Chapel services at 4 p.m. Monday afternoon were held for Mrs. M. H. McCarty, 85, who died in Root
Memorial Hospital here Sunday morning.

Roy Holland, minister of the Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in Colorado City Cemetery.

Mrs. McCarty, resident of Colorado City since 1934 was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was born August 10, 1878 in Hunt County and was married to Felix G. Hestand in Fort
Gibson, Oklahoma on September 19, 1895. He preceded her in death in 1950. She then
married Mr. McCarty in 1956.

She is survived by her husband, five sons and two daughters. Her children are Tommy and
Elmer Hestand of Colorado City, J. W. Hestand of Hale Center, William Isaac, Mrs. Ada May Morgan of Alma, Oklahoma, and Mrs. Nora Margaret Clepper of Groves; three sisters, Mrs. Callie Henderson , Mrs.
Maggie Hampton and Mrs. Laura Patterson all of Amarillo; one brother, William Parks of San Diego,
California; 34 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren

Burial was directed by Kiker & Son Funeral Home.

Pall bearers were, V. W. Matlock, D. L. Matlock, Buford Rich, Cleburne Rich, J. D. Hartsfield,
and Billie Owens.
