Jesse Phillips
Jesse Phillips, 68, died last night at 9:55 o'clock at Baker Hospital after an illness of two weeks. The funeral will be held from his home at 114 Dresden Ave., Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev R.A. Stankwytch, pastor of Antioch Baptist church of which Mr. Phillips was a member. Burial will be at New Hollywood Cemetery.
Surviving besides his wife, Mrs. Ettie Sutton Phillips, and one son, Gordon of the home; four sisters, Mrs. J.L. Phillips, Route 2, Mrs. G.W. Barfield, Route 5, Lumberton, Mrs. Lizzie Brooks, Route 1, Bladenboro, Mrs. Henry Britt, St. Pauls; two brothers, Robert Phillips, Route 2, Lumberton and Mard Phillips, Dillon, SC; seven nieces and nephews.
