MASSENA-Word has been received of the recent death of David R. LaShomb, 45, of 7 Fontaine Court, Taftville, Conn., formerly of Massena. He died unexpectedly Feb. 6, 1996 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital following an operation.
Mr. LaShomb is survived by two daughters, Tara LaShomb and Traci LaShomb, both of Taftville, Conn.; two brothers, Ricky LaShomb of Massena and Randy LaShomb of Shirley, Mass.; two sisters, Karen Krise of Bedford, Ind. and Brenda LaShomb of Massena; several nieces and nephews.
He was born Dec. 3, 1949, the son of Mary (Duquette) LaShomb of Massena and the late Donald LaShomb.
Mr. LaShomb was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War from 1969 to 1975. Following his discharge he enlisted in the Army National Guard and saw active duty in the Persian Gulf, retiring as a Staff Sergeant in October 1992.
He was employed as a ship fitter at General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Conn.
He was married to Dianna Guertin LaShomb of Taftville, Conn. on April 27, 1974, at St. Patrick Cathedtral in Norwich, Conn. She survives him.
