Karen M. Krise, 57, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Arrangements are entrusted with the Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Karen was born on December 1, 1960 in Massena, daughter of the late Donald D. and Mary Dora (Duquette) LaShomb. She married the love of her life, Thomas F. Krise, Jr. in Massena on August 25, 1979. They shared 38 years of devoted love and caring for one another through thick and thin.

While in Michigan, Karen worked at General Motors in Saginaw and locally, she and Tom operated Jake’s Place Café in Brasher Falls. She had a heart of gold and a house with a open door policy, who cared for many kids in need. She volunteered with the McCloud, OK Youth Soccer program and with Tri Town Youth Football.

She rode her Harley’s for over 40 years and was looking forward to riding this summer and being at camp. Her happiest times was being with family. Karen was a loving wife and awesome mom who enjoyed nothing more than having all her grandchildren at her home at any time. Her family and friends made her life complete.

Karen is survived by her loving husband, Thomas; her daughter Amy and son-in-law, Shawn Durham and many who considered her mom; her grandchildren, Colton Austin Krise, Cheyenne Krise, Donivon Rogers, Jakob Krise and many adopted grandbabies; her siblings, Ricky LaShomb of Lakeland, FL, Randy and Diana LaShomb, of Shirley, MA, Brenda and Paul Raymo of Champlain and Tody Duquette of Albany, many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Audrey Dawn Krise, and one brother, David LaShomb.

Following her wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 12 p.m. at the American Legion Post #514 in Winthrop.

Those wishing to express an act of kindness in Karen’s memory, please consider donations to your local cancer treatment center or Tri Town Youth Football.
