Ancestry trees list is death as 1776 with a source that states 1786. If ever we find a definitive proof of death to be 1776, we shall change his death year. An unsourced item on Ancestry.com, indicates in Jun 1788 he and his daughter were traveling from Sandown to Sutton. They stopped in Hopkinton for the night and he died there.

Possibly buried elsewhere. His death on 19 Sep 1776 is included in the Hopkinton, NH vital records. The record indicates that he was of Sandown, and that he died very suddenly.
