Toby Ritchie, age 48, of Leawood Drive, Cynthiana, Kentucky, died Sunday, August 24, 2008, at his residence. Born in Harrison County, Kentucky, on November 4, 1959, to the late Bill and Mae Williams Ritchie, he was a certified mechanic and a member of Robinson Christian Church. Toby retired from the National Guard after 22 years of service.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by: a sister, Brenda Nickerson; and his father-in-law, Charles Jewell. He is survived by: his wife, Viola Ritchie; three sons, Michael Jewell, of Nicholas County, and Nicholas Scott Ritchie and William Charles Ritchie, both of Cynthiana; two brothers, Billy (Nancy) Nickerson, of Cynthiana; and Rufus Nickerson, of Lexington; a sister, Abbie (Leroy) Spicer, of Boyd; his mother-in-law and step-father-in-law, Rosa and Les Corder, of Nicholas County; a sister-in-law, Anna Campbell, of Georgetown; two brothers-in-law, James Jewell and Donnie Jewell, both of Cynthiana; a special niece, Alexis Campbell; and several nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Ware Funeral Home by Josh Fennel. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be at Pythian Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
