Born May 10, 1921, in Live Oak, FL, Carolyn received her BS in Education from Florida State University for Women. She taught science in schools in Live Oak and Gainesville, FL for thirty-three years. She loved gardening, especially orchids and day lilies. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles P. and Ruth S. Huffman, twin-sister, Charlotte Bruce and husband Claude Cannon.
She is survived by a step-daughter, Susan (Ken) Karnes, Houston, TX; her sister, Dorothy H. Cross, Charlotte, NC, a niece Gayle Cross Giannini and nephew Charles Emory Cross and six grand nieces. Also surviving are first cousins, Mary Lou Reid and Betty Wheeler Moore, and two step-granddaughters.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 21, 2015 in the Live Oak Cemetery.
