July 8, 1922-October 8, 2018LongsBela Murrow, age 96, wife of the late James Harley Murrow, passed away at her home Monday, October 8, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.Born July 8, 1922 in Marion, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Celia Anderson Owens. Mrs. Murrow was a member of High Point Baptist Church. She was very independent and hardworking. She was very generous and religious with a good personality. She enjoyed making people laugh and gardening. Mrs. Murrow was a good cook who loved her family and her church family. Along with her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one son, James Albert "Jimmy" Middlemiss and one daughter, Shirley Jean Elliott.Surviving are her daughters, Ann Murrow Ogle (Edward) of Spartanburg, SC, Esther Murrow Webster (Kenneth) of Longs, SC, Ellen Murrow Thompson (Quinn) of Little River, SC, and Pat Rieves (Dave) of Bellhaven, NC; a daughter-in-law, Mary Middlemiss; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 12, 2018 at High Point Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Winburn and Rev. Mack Hutson officiating.
