Jewel Ethelynn Mumford Shepherd, 94, of 27417 Magnolia St., Okahumpka, Florida died Wednesday, February 19, 1997. She was a homemaker. Born in Wilkes County, Georgia January 13, 1903 to late John Quillan and Bessie Agnes Scott Mumford she moved to Central Florida in 1942. She was a member of the Community Methodist Church, in Fruitland Park, Florida. She was predeceased by six brothers; James Smith, Robert Dewey, Carl Ed, John Quillan Jr., Newbon, and Herman Mumford, and two sisters; Sarah and Priscilla. Survivors five sons, James D. of Fruitland Park, Florida, Charles of Ocoee, Florida, Jack, of Mt. Dora, Florida, Walter of Clarkesville, Tennessee, Mickey of Orlando, Florida; three daughters, Alice Payne of Lakeland, Florida, Norma Jean Doyle, of Leesburg, Florida and Betty Hulburt of Okahumpka, Florida, 45 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 22, 1997 at 2 PM at Banks/Page Thesus Funeral Home. Reverand Ivan Corbin of Community United Methodist Church officiating. Banks/Page Thsus Funeral Home in Wildwood is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Fruitland Park, Florida.
