Mass For Hackensack Man is Tomorrow

Hackensack - Funeral services for Ralph Gambuti, a resident her for more than 55 years, will be at 9 A. M. tomorrow at the Gormley Community Funeral Home.

Mr. Gambuti of 137 Krone Place died at home Monday after a short illness.

Born in Italy, Mr. Gambuti was a retired mason. He was first cornetist with the Hackensack concert band and played for servicemen of World War I at the Anderson Street railroad station.

Mr. Gambuti was predeceased by his wife Assunta and is survived by two daughters and two sons. Survivors are Mrs. Irma Walsh and Mrs. Ida Sanzari of Hackensack, Philip of Paramus and Anthony of Ridgewood.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Josephine De Vincentis of Teaneck and Mrs. Geoneffa Camera of Hackensack, eight grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours today at the funeral home at 335 Union Street ae 2 to 5 P. M. and 7 to 10 P. M. A solemn requiem mass will be at 9:30 A. M. tomorrow at Holy Trinity R. C. Church. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Ralph was 1st Cornetist in Hackensack Concert Band

The cornet is a brass instrument similar to the trumpet but distinguished from it by its conical bore, more compact shape, and mellower tone quality. The most common cornet is a transposing instrument in B♭, though there is also a soprano cornet in E♭.
