Shirley Hamilton passed away June 17, 2011 in Bellingham WA. at Hospice House, with her daughter at her side.

She was born in Westminster B.C., to parents Arthur Triggs and Maud Hugle. Shirley and her twin sister, Betty, older sister, Dina, and brother, Dell, grew up in Port Kell, B.C on a farm that grandfather George Triggs and her parents pioneered from England. The lost their mother when Shirley was six.

She served in the military from September, 1942 to February, 1946 as an Air Craft woman Class One in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Shirley was honored with medals for serving overseas.

In 1948 she married Gordon Hamilton and they settled in Seattle where she worked at Sears for 17 years while Gordon worked as a Postal Service employee on the Great Northern Railway. They had a daughter, Arlene.

Shirley was also an ordained minister of the First Spiritual Church.

She leaves behind daughter, Arlene; granddaughter, Dealaina; nephew, Garry (Lee) Godin; grandnephew, Jude (Alana) Godin; grandnieces, Rebecca Godin and Tonya Godin; and many good friends in Canada and the States.

Shirley's passing is not the end but a continuing journey with family and friends on the other side.

Her memorial will be in Seattle in September. She will be laid to rest in Canada with her twin sister, Betty.
