Springfield-Dora (Burke) Malone was called safely home at he age of 98 on Thursday,Oct. 16, 2003 at Ring Radius Nursing Home, Springfield. Born in Dawson, Georgia and educated in Georgia, she moved to Springfield in 1925. She was predeceased by her parents, Frank Burke and Annie (Walker) Burke; her late husband, George Malone; her sisters, Marida "Sweetie", Deariest, Annie B.; her brothers, Willie B. and John; her three sons, John, George and Eugene. She is survived by three daughters-on-law, Leola Jean, Phyllis E. and Dorothy; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. The wake will be held Tuesday Oct. 21 from 7 p.m. and the funeral services Wednesday Oct. 22 at Henderson Funeral Home, 52 Hancock St., Spfld. at 10 a.m.
