Mrs. Gamel was born on November 9, 1925 in Canton, Ohio, daughter of the late Luther Paul Hufstetler and the late Jessie Mae Smith Hufstetler. She was a homemaker, an avid golfer and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Rockmart where she was active in the Sunday School program and a member of the Women's Circle. Mrs. Gamel was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ancel H. Gamel on November 24, 2000.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Gamel Williams of Rockmart; and four sisters, Lois Johnson of Acworth, Catherine Chandler of California, Sandra Wimer of Acworth and Paulette Lefebvre of Aragon. Two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gamel will be held on Friday afternoon, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Joe York and the Rev. Al Cunningham officiating. Interment services will follow in the family lot of Rockmart Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers: Bob Williams, Phil Williams, Rob Williams, Jimmy Berry, Carl Gamel and Frank Gamel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening, October 7th between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
