Robert Buist, Jr, was born on September 14, 1837, son of Robert Buist of Scotland and Jane Menzie. Robert Buist, Jr, was married to Hermania "Minnie" Mathieu. They had Robert "Robbie" Buist, 1861-1874, and Minna Alexine Buist, 1863-1909, m. Ferdinand H. DeJanon. Robert Buist, Jr. was a seed Merchant. He died on December 13, 1910 at Belleview Stratford Hotel, and was buried at Woodlands Cemetery on December 16, 1910. His granddaughter, Roberta DeJanon, made a headline on December 29, 1909, when she ran away after the death of her mother, Minna.
