OBITUARY :
MRS. SARA LEVINE, 96, of Hagerstown, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at Williamsport Nursing Home in Williamsport.

She was the wife of Jacob Levine, who died Feb. 24, 1997.

Mrs. Levine resided in Frederick, Md., for a number of years before moving to Hagerstown.

Born in Kittanning, Pa., Aug. 9, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Rose Aaronson Mervis.

She was a member of Beth Shalom Congregation, Frederick, where she belonged to the sisterhood. She was also a member of Hadassah and the noontime lunch club.

She is survived by one son, Howard Levine and wife, Ibby, Middletown, Md.; one daughter, Roslyn Levine and husband, Rick Blair, Hagerstown; five grandchildren, Doug Levine and wife, Julie, Mark Levine and wife, Kimberley, Rachel Levine and husband, Randy Adkins, Heidi Bowman and husband, Eric, and Edwin L. Blair; five great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and two sisters, Hannah Siegel, Wheeling, W.Va., and Edith Charlson, Hollywood, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, from Beth Shalom Community Center, 1011 N. Market St., Frederick. Rabbi Morris Kosman will officiate. Interment will be made in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beth Shalom Congregation, 1011 N. Market St., Frederick, MD 21701; or to Hospice of Washington County, 747 Northern Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.

Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown, is handling arrangements.
