Janice Carpenter Layton Foster, 90, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away April 21, 2005. Janice as born July 15, 1914 in Thatcher, Arizona to Edmund and Mary Ann Moody Carpenter.
As a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Janice served, again and again, as ward organist. She was an accomplished pianist and accompanist throughout her life. With her husband Alton, she served as an Arizona Temple worker. She loved her life as a helpmeet to her husbands and always looked forward to starting new home projects and gloried in the beauty of the countryside.
She is preceded in death by her first husband of 39 years, Leslie J. Layton and infant son, Kenneth C. Layton.
Janice is survived by her current husband of 23 years, Alton Foster, children, Chris Layton (Joyce), Eddie Layton (Jenny,) and Ann Marie Layton, 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchil-dren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Funeral
Services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 11:00AM with a 1-hour prior viewing. Services will be at the LDS Park Center Ward Building, 422 E. University Drive in Mesa. Arrangements were handled by Meldrum Mortuary.
