Purdy Lowery, 84, of 1963 Piney Grove Road, Lumberton, died Tuesday at his home.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Revels Funeral Home Chapel in Lumberton. Burial will follow in the Christian Cemetery on Saddletree Road.
Lowery was born on Sept. 24, 1917, in Robeson County, to the late Purdy and Mary Delle Dial Lowery. He was a farmer for many years and a champion coon hunter.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Willey, Thorton and Leak Lowery, and three sisters, Mary and Martha Locklear, and Lee Lowery.
Surviving are his wife, Rosie Mae Lowery of the home; his children, Billy, June and EllaRose Lowery, Becky Van Natten and Gomer Chavis; a niece, Diane Byrd; two brothers, David and Pritnes Lowery; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of special nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Revels Funeral Home in Lumberton.
