OBITUARY:
South Bend Tribune, 6 June 1895, pg 6:
Albert Barber, living three miles southwest of here, died suddenly on the evening of Memorial Day. He was an ex-soldier and was at Walkerton during the day to attend the exercises. That evening he went to the Barber church to attend class meeting, of which he was the leader, but feeling ill returned to his house a short distance from the church. He grew rapidly worse and expired before medical aid could reach him. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon at the Barber church and was the largest ever held in this vicinity, members of the G. A. R. and Royal Arcanum being present. Rev, Mr. Riley conducted the services.
