Rosenberg Herald, October 26, 1934:

It is with a sad heart that we chronicle the death of little Herbert Brown Wooster, youngster son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Wooster of Alvin, who departed this life Wednesday, October 17, at 1 p.m. at the age of 5 years, 4 months, and 11 days. Herbert was born in Wallis, Texas but moved with his parents to Alvin.

Deceased is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Wosoter; three brothers, Clyde, Jackson, and Elmer; one sister, Vera Mae; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Wooster; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday, October 18, with interment in Orchard.

We would say to the heartbroken loved ones that we believe little Herbert's sweetly resting in the arms of Jesus, and that he has escaped the sins and temptations of this sinful world.

Little Herbert has gone to rest,
To reign with God forever blest,
His little tongue will always praise
A Savior's love, redeeming grace.
For from a world of sin and strife,
He now enjoys a heavenly life,
And joins to praise, to shout and sing
And makes the heavenly arches ring.
Could we but hear his little tongue
So sweetly sing the heavenly song,
Could we but see his smiling face,
Delighted with the happy place.
We could not wish him back again,
But say, dear Herbert, with God remain.
We'll try to gain that peaceful shore,
Where those who meet, shall part no more.
Now let us strive the prize to gain,
Let's come to Christ, with him remain,
Then we shall share in Jesus' love,
And meet little Herbert up above.
A Friend.
