Legendery American Legion Baseball coach for Coplay A.A. throughout the 1950's and 1960's. He organized the Coplay Junior Legion team in 1941 and teams he coached won 6 Pennsylvania State Championships. The baseball complex in Coplay, PA was named in his honor. He was a member of the Pennsylvania American Legion Hall of Fame and was the owner of Lehigh Valley Sporting Goods in Coplay. He was the husband of Anna (Reinert) Balliet.
