Ole Anderson was born at Solberg, Norway, September 16 1848. Was married to Miss Kristina Johnson in 1874. Mr. Anderson came to America in 1880 and located at Lake City, Minnesota. Mrs. Anderson and the children came the next year. In 1885 Mr Anderson and his family came to South Dakota and located near Seneca where they resided until 1891 when they moved onto the Colby farm a half mile east of Lebanon. They worked the farm for four years when he purchased land in Arena township and moved onto the same. Mrs. Anderson died in 1895. Mr Anderson, with his girls, removed to Edmonds, Washington, about 5 years ago where he resided at the time of his death, March 27, 1914. To this happy union there were 8 children born, all of whom are living to mourn the departure of the father. Five of them were at his bedside at the time of his death, Albert K Anderson, Mrs. Jennie Conner, Mrs. Carolina Yost, Mrs. Agnes Yost, and Miss Betsy Anderson, all of whom live in Edmonds, WA. All of the children are married excepting Miss Betsy. Niel Anderson lives on a farm that he owns in Walworth County, South Dakota. John Anderson lives on the old home farm in Arena Township, Potter County, South Dakota. August M. Anderson, after receiving a college education at Greenville, Illinois, with his wife and small child went to Greenville Mission Station, Natal, South Africa as a missionary, about 5 years ago and where they still reside. A.K Anderson accompanied the father's body back to Lebanon, South Dakota, where funeral services were held Friday afternoon, April 3, 1914, conducted by Rev. H. M. Bissel, in the Congregational Church, attended by a goodly number of old acquaintances after which the remains were laid to rest, beside those of the departed wife and mother.
