He re-enlisted as a Veteran Volunteer November 28, 1863, at Huntsville, Alabama, transferred to Co D, date unknown, and promoted to corporal February 12, 1864. He honorably discharged with his company August 23, 1865.
He married Mary lnu. and by 1870 was living in Carroll Township, Perry County. By 1900, he was residing in Salisbury, Lancaster County, where he died from "phthisis."
