MRS. GEO. SCHNEIDER, OF MAPLE GROVE
Mrs. George Schneider, of Maple Grove Township died at her home Saturday morning, Feb. 17, 1912, at the age of seventy-one years, five months. She had been in poor health for some time, and senility is given as the cause of her demise. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at nine o'clock at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Weissteiner officiating. Burial took place at the St. Michael's Cemetery.
Deceased was born in Wurtemburg, Germany, on September 16, 1840, when ten years of age she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Fritton, to Erie county, N.Y. She was united in marriage to George Schneider at Swormsville, N.Y. November 4, 1862. In 1883 they came to Michigan locating in Maple Grove where they have since resided. To this union were born thirteen children, ten of whom are living. They are: Mrs. Catherine Bueche, Mrs. Mary Bueche Deceased, Mrs. Elizabeth Emmendorfer, Mrs. Caroline Emmendorfer, Mrs. Anna Schlachter, Mrs. Magdelena Schlachter, deceased, Mrs. Rosa Klein, Mrs. Veronica Klein, George Schneider, deceased, Joseph S. and John Schneider, of Maple Grove, Frank Schneider, of Blanker Wisconsin, Mathew Schneider, of Winlock, Washington.
Besides her large family she brought up Miss Catherine Laux, now fifteen years old who resides at home. She also leaves thirty-seven grandchildren six of whom acted as pall bearers. Besides her aged husband, aged 75, she also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Andreas Beiter, of Swormville, N.Y. Mrs. Anthony Emmendorfer, of Maple Grove, and five brothers, Nicholas and Salas Fritton, of New York State, Joseph and George Fritton of Topeka, Kansas, John Fritton, of Nebraska,
Mrs. Schneider was a loving wife and mother and her death brought sorrow and sincere regret to many homes.
