GEORGETOWN - James W. Collington, 82, a retired building contractor, died Tuesday in a local hospital. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church. Burial, directed by Wilds' Daughter Funeral Home, will be in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Collington was born in Georgetown, a son of James Collington and Bessie Burgess Collington. He attended Georgetown public schools and was a member of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Rosa Fraser Collington; two sons, Horace Collington of New Orleans and Herbert Collington of Atlanta; five daughters, Linda Brown and Diane Collington, both of Georgetown, Donna Mack of St. George, Lucy Spencer of Linden, N.J., and Evelyn Collington of New York; a brother, John Collington of Washington; and two sisters, Louise Johnson and Emily Collington, both of New York.
