Dr. Egan's work provides a transcription of the inscription, description of the memorial, and notes re anomalie(s) and condition. We differ only on the spelling of Queens County which is "Qeens" on the headstone.

Copy of Dr. Egan's typescript is available at Dublin City Library and Archive, Dublin, Ireland.

MountRath is present day Mountrath in County Laois, historically a prominent industrial town with a thriving ironworks, cotton mill and tannery. Today it is a small market town. The iron industry, established in the early 17th century flourished for a century and a half. It resulted in the destruction of the surrounding forests for timber.
