John was among those signing a request for the formation of Noble County, Ohio. Noble County was formed in 1851. In 1870, at age 68, he was living with his wife in Center Twp., Noble County, Ohio. John and Eve donated one quarter of an acre of land for Lanam School. Death records indicate he died in Adams Township, Washington, Ohio at age 82.
