She was born on December 10, 1926 to Josef and Josefine (Strasser) Beck in Pancsova, Yugoslavia.
Josephine, her brother, Josef Beck, her aunt Anna Mulatz, and a cousin Franz Mulatz were survivors of a World War II concentration camp. Josephine immigrated to the United States via Ellis Island in 1951 and became a naturalized citizen in 1953.
Josephine and Joseph Bach were married in 1954 and settled in North Olmsted, Ohio for forty years. Prior to the birth of her sons, Josephine worked as a seamstress for Josef & Feiss Co. in Cleveland, Ohio. Josephine's passions were cooking, sewing, working in her garden and her sons. Many were fortunate to enjoy the pleasures of Josephine's cooking, baking, needlework and sewing.
Josephine is survived by her sons, Frank (Debbie) Bach and Richard (Jo) Bach; and grandchildren, Matthew and Jonathan Bach.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Bach.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2011 at 1 p.m. at Birchaven Village with Pastor Neil Norheim officiating. A private burial will take place on Monday, September 26, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, Ohio.
