She was truly a gentle giant and my caretaker.

Heidi was a rescued loving Blue Doberman Pincher, always wanting to be rubbed, she would catch your hands hanging and stand under them and start moving back and forth.

Heidi had good motherly instincts, she would try to mother my 4 year old Dachshund, trying to get her to take milk, I guess she thought she was a pup, she even tried with a litter of 7 week old kittens we found except they wanted to go everywhere and she would chase them down fetch them back, lay down, and they would take off again.........she loved the kittens and cared for them.

She had to take alot of naps during the day because she would spend the entire night, every night, making sure I stayed covered up, my feet, hands & head, she would grab the covers and pull them over my body until I was completely covered, I would wake up with her doing that all through the night. She was truly an angel. I still miss her each and everyday.

She had been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and our vet had been treating her for that and we thought it was going to work. We took her several times a week to the lake so she could float and she loved it. We would excercise her legs trying to keep muscle activity. She got to go riding almost everyday, just because she enjoyed it so much. The last month before the end, I had made her a nice bed, with sofa cushions on the floor because she couldn't jump up on the bed, well that wasn't good enough for her unless I was there beside her, so I slept with her on the floor every night till the end, except I just slept on a blanket. Her kidneys started failing, so with that said we had to do the right thing and stand by our faithful friend.
