Moved to Glenrock as a child and worked for Pacific Power and Light. After retiring he worked various jobs and continued to preach for the Church of Christ, which he did for more than 30 years.

Veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.

Married: Betty Ann Lampman on June 3, 1949 in Glenrock, Wyoming. Raised two daughters, Paula and Lois.

Survivors: His wife, Betty; daughters Paula Stewart and her husband Brad and Lois Svrko and her husband Floyd, all of Glenrock; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his mother Mamie Harland; father Condey Bishop; step-father Mark Harland; brothers Frank Bishop, Wilbur Bishop, Ellis Bishop, Lee Bishop and Leonard Bishop; and sisters Edna Hersey, Mary Raines and Hazel Bishop.
