Blanche Eckels Everett, 93, of Evergreen went to be with our Lord at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita, Kan.

"Maw Maw" was born Sept. 3, 1910, in Loranger. She worked in the premature nursery at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Baton Rouge, for 25 years, retiring in 1975. She lived most of her life in Baker, only recently moving to Evergreen. She was a member of Baker Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lillie and George Eckels; three sisters, a brother, two sons-in-law and a grandson.

Cherishing her life are six daughters, Helen Emrick and husband George of Goddard, Kan., Grace Blanchard and husband Henry of Bethany, Okla., Rosemary Cady and husband M.C. of Blanchard, Shirley Parsons and husband Billie of Summit, Miss., Wilma Mascarella and husband Lucian of Mebane, N.C., and Marie Thompson and husband Ken of Evergreen. Also cherishing her life are 22 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Sweet Pea.

Friends may call at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 2003. Friends may call at Baker Church of the Nazarene, 4366 Groom Road, from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2003. Graveside service at Bayou Rouge Baptist Cemetery, Evergreen, at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Maw Maw's grandsons.
