His gravestone is inscribed "Father Noah Augst Dec. 24, 1842 Nov. 16, 1929, Co. D. 115 Reg. O.V.I." Also inscribed on the gravestone is "Darkes Wife of Noah August June 9, 1849 - May 9, 1950." Their two known children were: Simon Wesley, b. 23 Nov 1872 & Charles M., b. 23 feb. 1877.
