Maryann was the daughter of Vincnet robatin and Johanna Barlik. She was the 6th of their thirteen known children. Her oldest sister, Maria, was born and died in Nova Lubovna, Slovakia, before her parents came to the U.S.

The obituary read as follows:

Maryann M. Robitan, age 91. Sister of Ann Norris, Julie Colao, Veronica Boris, Agatha May, Rose Robitan, Dorothy Ewanko and the late Matilda Misley, Andrew, Vince, Edward and Michael Robitan; aunt of many.
WWII Army Veteran WAC serving in the South Pacific, member of WAC Chapter 3 in Columbus, OH. Funeral Mass Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Albert the Great Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
