Randolph Lee enlisted in the Confederate States Army as a blacksmith on 11 February, 1862 at Brazos County, Texas. He was mustered on 10 April 1862 in Capt. John H. Conner's Company, 2nd Regiment Carter's Brigade Texas Lancers. This later was known as Company H, 24th Texas Cavalry. He was captured near Atlanta, Georgia on 21 July 1864 and sent to Camp Chase Confederate Prison in Ohio where he arrived on 2 August 1864. He died of fever remit at Camp Chase on 12 January 1865.
