Calla Howard, age 66, a resident of Lakeville Road in Salyersville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at the Paul B Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Mr. Howard was born October 31, 1943 in Salyersville, Kentucky the son of the late Tommie and Nannie Stepp Howard. Also, preceding Calla in death is one brother, Berchel Howard. He was employed as a heavy machine operator until his retirement. In his passing he leaves behind: Wife, Sandy Salyer Howard of Salyersville, Daughters; Vivian Lee (Denver) Swafford, Betty Jean Howard and Calla Elizabeth Howard all of Salyersville, Ky. Three sisters; Bethel Turner of Middletown, Ohio, Betty Lou Dyer of Salyersville, Ky and Becky Arnett of West Liberty, Ky; One brother; Babe Howard of Stanton, Ky. Also surviving are three grandchildren and a host of family and friends who love and miss him. Funeral services for Calla Howard were conducted Sunday, September 26th from the Salyersville Funeral Home. Comforting words were given by Clergy Hershel Wright and Tim Watkins. Burial followed in the Adams Cemetery on Rockhouse Road in Salyersville. Arrangements were in care of the Salyersville Funeral Home.
