Canadian religious figure. 4th Bishop of Trois-Rivières. Born in Trois-Rivières (Québec) on March 5, 1876. He studied in his home town and in the city of Québec where he was ordained priest on September 25, 1898. From 1898 to 1900, he took two more years of studies at the Canadian College in Rome and came back to teach Philosophy at the Trois-Rivières Seminary. He left this school in 1917 to act as chaplain of the Ursulines Sisters, this until 1921. Thereafter, he became principal of l’École normale de Trois-Rivières until his nomination as auxiliary bishop of Mgr Cloutier, the titular bishop of Trois-Rivières, on July 28, 1926. On February 4, 1935, he was promoted and became bishop of the diocese. He died in his episcopal city on August 26, 1945.
