Peter's first wife was Charlotte Hinman of Woodbury, CT. They had four children:
(1) Jane md. William Shepard.
(2) Andrew A. md. Esther Ingham
(3) Mary S. md. Frank Sutton in Clinton, Iowa
(4) Anna E. md Henry Bruner
In 1837 Peter made the 4-week journey from NY to Tallmadge, OH with a team of two horses. His wife, Charlotte, died there in 1846.
Peter md. Susan Van Norman in Cuyahoga County, Ohio on Mar. 7, 1853. They moved to Goodhue Co. Minnesota, appearing there in 1860 and 1870 census. In 1875 Minnesota State census and 1880 Federal census, he appeared in Goodhue County with wife Samantha. In 1886 he returned to Brecksville, Ohio and died the following year.
