Mr. Gomes was a disabled Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War.
Born in East Providence, he was a son of the late Manuel and Silvanna (Francis) Gomes.
He leaves six sisters, Ethel Ribeiro, Deolinda Enos, Mabel Scarduzio and Mary Raposa, all of East Providence, Elsie Raposa of Seekonk, and Laura Testa of Boynton Beach, Fla.
The funeral will be held tomorrow at 8 a.m. from the Rebello Funeral Home, 901 Broadway, East Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 at St. Francis Xavier Church, North Carpenter Street. Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
