Helen Louise Lewis, 81, a resident of Russellville, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Saint Mary's Regional Medical Center.

She was born January 9, 1930, in the Pea Ridge community north of Atkins to Claud Dwight and Sarah Elizabeth Duvall Chronister. She was a member of The Refuge Church, took care of children in her home for more than 50 years and loved to cook and spoil her two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry Chronister; and a sister, Norm Heflin.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, O. D. Lewis Jr. of Russellville; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Pam Duvall of Russellville; two brothers, Don and Jimmy Dale Chronister, both of Atkins; a sister and brother-in-law, Pat and J. T. Robertson of Russellville; two grandchildren, Dalton and Emily Duvall, both of Russellville; and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2011, at The Refuge Church with the Rev. Scott Findley and the Rev. Bob Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Suggs Cemetery north of Atkins under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
