This could be R. H. Chambers who was listed in the census with the Amos Allen family...

(From Sherry Hightower)
This is all I could find for an Amos Allen in Texas during the Census year 1860 (as he died prior to the 1880 census)

Name: Amos Allen
Age in 1860: 27
Birth Year: abt 1833
Birthplace: New York
Home in 1860: Buck Horn, Austin, Texas
Gender: Male
Post Office: Bellville
Value of real estate:
Household Members:
Name Age
Amos Allen 27 NY
E A Allen 34 Ala
R H Chamber 11 Tex (could have been her little brother?)

(Bucky V. 47541118)
Chambers (73112445)

Suggested edit:
I propose that the 19 YO Chambers (Find a Grave Memorial ID: 73112445) buried in the Amos Allen plot Find a Grave Memorial ID: 73112446) (is the son of William F. Chambers and wife Eliza Ann Taylor making him Amos Allen's stepson.

Below are Records from Ancestry.com and other information to support this opinion:

(1) Marriage record showing Amos Allen married a Mrs. Chambers in 1857:

Amos Allen
Texas, U.S., Select County Marriage Records, 1837-1965
Name Amos Allen
Gender Male
Marriage Date 19 Oct 1857
Marriage Place Washington, Texas, USA
Recording Date 19 Oct 1857
Recording Place Washington, Texas, USA
Spouse Mrs. Chambers
Document Number 164

(2) Marriage record for Eliza Ann Taylor (Find a Grave Memorial ID: 167187424) and William F. Chambers (no Death/Burial information found):

Eliza Ann Taylor
Mississippi, U.S., Compiled Marriages, 1826-1900
Detail
Name Eliza Ann Taylor
Gender Female
Marriage Date 1 Aug 1844
Marriage Place Noxubee, Mississippi, USA
Spouse William F. Chambers

(3) 1850 census record showing W F Chambers and wife E A Chambers, with two children, M E Chambers, female, age 5, and R P Chambers, male, age 3 months (3/12):

W F Chambers
in the 1850 United States Federal Census
Detail
Name W F Chambers
Gender Male
Race White
Age 27
Birth Year abt 1823
Birthplace Georgia
Home in 1850 Washington, Texas, USA
Line Number 17
Dwelling Number 499
Family Number 499
Inferred Spouse E A Chambers
Inferred Child M E Chambers
R P Chambers
Household Members (Name) Age
W F Chambers 27
E A Chambers 21
M E Chambers 5
R P Chambers 0

It's feasible this is the same William F. Chambers who married Eliza Ann Taylor in 1844 at Noxubee County, Mississippi. Their oldest child in the 1850 census, M E Chambers, female, age 5, was born in Mississippi. Their second child, R F Chambers, male, age 3 months, was born in Texas.

(4) Foot stone at gravesite of Chambers engraved with initials "R C".

(5) Census records identify this individual as "R P Chambers (1850 census) and "R H Chambers (1860 census).

(6) R P Chambers, age 3 months in 1850 census and R H Chambers, age 11 YO in the 1860 census would have been born about 7 years before Amos Allen married "Mrs. Chambers" in 1857.

Thus it's feasible to consider the individual identified as "R C" Chambers (Find a Grave Memorial ID: 73112445) is the son of William F. Chambers and Eliza Ann Taylor and the stepson of Amos Allen.

RP/RH Chambers was born in 1850 making him probably 21 YO in Jan. 1872. It's not unusual to have a 1–2 year age discrepancy in the census/death records in that time period.

In any event, if you have any contact with the Allen descendants in the future, you can pass this information on to them to sort it all out.
