Moritz Lichtmann who was a Jew born in Poland in 1891. His watchmaking shop was confisgated and he was detained by the Nazis on November 10, 1938, Kristalnacht and released 10 days later. This was the onset of the Holocaust and his story of how he escaped Austria. Moritz wrote this story long hand in 1948. It was hidden in the back of another book and discovered in 1974, then translated and published into English 2006 by his son Paul Lichtman.
