Wooten Death Reported Here
Statesville relatives have been informed of the death of Bascom Wooten , Iredell County native who had resided in California many years. Mr. Wooten died in Los Angeles in late November. He was a brother of Mrs. J.A. Reid, 615 Anderson Street.
Mr. Wooten, the son of Augustus Yarbourgh Wooten and Rachel Renegar Wooten was born August 1, 1869. His first wife, the former Emma Brawley of Iredell County died many years ago.
He left this state in 1908, lived in Oklahoma for several years, and then moved to California where he had since lived.
Surviving are his second wife, California, three sons, Gordon Brawley and Neil Wooten, all of Los Angeles, and a daughter, Mrs. Ira Miller, of Fresno. In addition to his sister, Mrs. Reid, he leaves a brother W.W. Wooten of Richmond, VA., and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. J.W. Thompson of Statesville, sister of Mr. Wooten died last May.
