Mrs. Alta B. Cadwell, 86, of 63363 Fair Road, Sturgis, died Sept. 30 at the home of her son, Earl, with whom she had been making her home for the past several months. Mrs. Cadwell had been a life-long area resident. In March 1924, she married Cloid Bowersox. Mr. Bowersox died May 20, 1944. On June 26, 1946, she married Everett B. Cadwell who died on Feb. 11, 1965. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church being baptized on Aug. 25, 1895 and confirmed on April 4, 1909. Surviving are a son, Earl L. Bowersox, Sturgis; a step-son, Everett B. Cadwell Jr., Syracuse, N.Y.; four grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Cadwell was born July 6, 1895 in Sherman Township, daughter of Louis and Ida (Bauman) Brueck. She was proceded in death by a grandson, Earl L. Bowersox Jr. in 1971, four brothers and two sisters. Grandchildren surviving are Robert Bowersox, Bolivia, South America, Michael Bowersox, Mottville, Mrs. Doug (Martha) Harker, Sturgis, Mrs. Richard (Marie) Smart, Sturgis. Step-grandchildren surviving are Mrs. Russell (Susan) Kennedy, Peggy Cadwell, Timothy and Thomas Cadwell, all of Syracuse, N.Y. Friends and relatives may call at the Rexrode-Rosenberg Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday. Services will be held in the Salem Lutheran Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Douglas Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Prairie River Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Salem Lutheran Church.
