Dec 18, 1920-Oct 3, 2001
BELLFLOWER, CA- Tony Evink, 81, Bellflower, CA, formerly of Sheldon, died Wednesday, Oct. 3. He had been suffering from throat cancer the last seven months.
Services and burial were in California.
Tony Evink, son of Raymond and Eunice (Brouwer) Evink, was born Dec 18., 1920, in Sheldon. He was raised in Sheldon and lived in Sheldon and Heron Lake, MN area before moving to California. He served in the Armed Forces 1942-1945 and was mainly stationed in Guam.
He married Adeline Schuller of Alton, on April 21, 1947. Mrs. Evink died Feb 24, 2001.
Survivors include two sons, Kendall Evink and Darvin Evink of Bellflower, CA; five grandchildren; six sisters, Angeline Vander Wolde of Spirit Lake, Jeanette Mastbergen of Sanborn, Marie Mastbergen of Sheldon, Johanna and Jake Wagenaar of Sheldon, Henrietta Evink of Sheldon, and Eunice and Merle Dagel of Orange City; and a brother, Jake Evink of Bellflower, CA.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adeline Evink; a sister, Alice Van Kekerix, and a brother Wilbert Evink.
