Mr. James Watkins, age 83, a resident of Gillham, Arkansas, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at his home.
He was born to Aaron Monroe and Cynthia Myrtle Guthrie Watkins at Houston, Texas, on July 4, 1927. He was a retired employee of Tyson Foods, and a Baptist. He enjoyed wood working, yard work, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Charles, Allen, Bill, and Ray Watkins, Doris Serratt, Loraine Hitch, and Virginia Watkins, and a sister-in-law, Connie Richey.

He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Carol Sue Collins Watkins of Gillham, a son and daughter-in-law, Harry Monroe and Mary Watkins of Garden Grove, California, two daughters and sons-in-law, Leianna Kay and Roger Bruster of Mena, Ark.; and Genita Denise and Michael Whitley of De Queen; two sisters, Wanda Haarmeyer of Gillham, and Mary Sue Thornhill of sherman, Texas, six grandchidlren, Austin, Jesse, and Dylan Watkins, Lori Everitt, Jeremy Whitley, and Ryan Whitley, four great-grandchildren, Erin, Billy, Austin, and Aiden; two sisters-in-laws, Betty Watkins of Yukon, Okla.; and Diane Watkins of Carlsbad, NM, two brothers-in-law, Benny Collins of Gillham, and Harold Richey of Anaheim, Calif,and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Watkins will be held at 2:00 P.M., Monday, June 6th in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry Hill and Rev. Shane Haarmeyer officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillham Cemetery, under the direction of Chandler Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Chandler Funeral Home on Sunday, June 5th from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M.
