Seale family legend is that Ellender's maiden name was HASELTINE/HAZELTINE and that she was born in Germany. This has not been proven by modern day researchers that I am aware of. Census records show she was born in North Carolina. If anyone has proof of her maiden name, please send it to me so I can apply it to her memorial!
