Hester Lois Campbell Hunter was born to Benjamin Garfield Campbell & Bertie Lee Pilgrim Campbell in Crossett, Arkansas. She was the third of five daughters.

She married Oliver M. Hunter in June of 1944 and gave birth to two daughters, Lois Ann Hunter and Barbara Carol Hunter. The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona when Oliver was in the US Air Force and then moved back home to Crossett, Arkansas when he was shipped overseas. Oliver, Lois and the family moved to Houston in the early 50s where Oliver worked as a carpenter and Lois worked as a soda fountain clerk for Madings Drug Stores.

Lois was killed in an automobile accident on August 25, 1956 in Nacogdoches, TX. Oliver and Lois were on their way to pick up Lois Ann and Barbara from Mr. & Mrs. Campbell in Crossett where they had spent part of the summer.

Lois Hunter was survived by her husband, two children, four sisters, her parents and many nieces and nephews.
