Worker's rights activist. She was the first president of the Swiss Women's Workers Union (SAV), founded in 1890, and is considered one of the most important figures in the Swiss workers' movement of the late 19th century. Verena Conzett represented the SAV at the first Swiss Women's Congress in Geneva, Switzerland in 1896. In the same year, she was voted onto the Board of Directors of the Swiss Worker's Union. There is a street named after her in the city of Zurich, Switzerland.
