Jazz Musician. He was the featured vocalist with Eddy Duchin & His Orchestra during the band's greatest years, from 1933 to 1941, and was the band's primary trumpet soloist and one of its musical arrangers. He remained Duchin's close friend and confidant until Duchin's death. Sherwood was famous for unique trumpet style and for his vocal rendition of the song "Speak to Me with Your Eyes," among others. His first marriage (from 1933 to 1945) was to singer Rosalind Conrad.
