Josephine was born in Lima, Peru to Charles Wesley Gray(originally from Maine) and Josephine Langill(a native of Peru). Josephine came to America with her parents in 1883 and joined her father's family in Minnesota.
Josephine married William Taylor Colborn on June 6, 1894. They had three children - Charles (1895-1933), William, Jr (1896-1982),and Harold (1903-1986).
