Daughter of Carl and Isabel Shinkel Ellington.
Graduated from Ottawa University and taught in Pomona and Garnett before moving to Lawrence. There, she taught 6th grade at India - Kaw Valley School until retiring in 1979. She married Gilbert G. Booth (d. 4/8/85) on 4/10/44 in Lawrence. They had two sons, David and Mark, and a daughter, Jane (Booth) Berkley. She had four grandchildren at the time of her death. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lawrence and the Order of the Eastern Star in Garnett. She passed away at College Park Village Health Care Center in Salina. Services were at Trinity Lutheran with Rev. Jeff Martin presiding. Memorials went to the Kansas State Association For Alzheimer's and Similar Diseases.
